Difference in visual acuity between screen and tablet

🤔Problem description

When I start a SiVIEW exam, the visual acuities on the screen and the SiVIEW tablet are not the same.

🛠 Solution

Step 1: Check the infrared dongle

  • Check that the dongle is properly pointed at the screen.

This dongle works like a remote control: it uses an infrared signal that must be directed toward the screen to function correctly. Make sure there are no obstacles between the dongle and the screen, and that it is properly positioned facing the screen.

  • The IR dongle is a small black box with the inscription SiVIEW on top and a green light on the back. It is generally placed high, above the phoropter.

Attention: the smooth side of the dongle must be facing the screen, not the side with the green LED.

  • Also, take the following configuration into account: when the screen is positioned above the patient, the infrared dongle must be aimed at the mirror.

Step 2: Check the connection between the tablet and the screen

  • Make sure the screen is properly detected by the SiVIEW tablet by checking the box settings.

Step 3: Check the connections

  • If the problem is not resolved, check all cables and connections to ensure they are properly plugged in. If your tablet still does not display the screen, unplug and then reconnect the dongle located at the back of the SiVIEW box. To refresh the device display, exit this screen and then return to it.
  • If it still doesn’t work after all the checks, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
