SiVIEW determines the presence of astigmatism using the Freeman 4-position method. This method consists of presenting several cylinder orientations: 0°, 90°, 135°, and 45°, in order to determine whether one of them is perceived as sharper or more comfortable by the patient.
If one direction is preferred, the examination continues with steps to verify and refine the astigmatism.
