There is no major change in the examination process for patients who have undergone cataract surgery. Distance refraction is performed in the usual way, following the same steps for determining and balancing the prescription.
In some cases, an additional test may be performed before biocular balancing to assess any potential difference in contrast between the two eyes.
For near vision, the approach is then adapted according to the type of intraocular lens (IOL) implanted in the patient (monofocal or multifocal).
